| May 10 | Article from
Newsweek magazine The article titled "Onward Christian Soldiers" covers five full pages and is focused around the growth of the underground church in China. But the latter half of the story describes the BTJ vision and the efforts of evangelising the area between China and Jerusalem. Noticable is that this website has also been referred to as a source of information. An example of what is written is Zhang Fuheng, one of the top leaders of the house church movement, when says he has already sent 100 of his followers to overseas training centers in preparation to convert Muslims in the Middle East and elsewhere. Says Zhang, "Our most important goal now is spreading our message across the world." This is an article worth reading and here are the final lines of the article in Newsweek, May 10, 2004: "A flourishing church could solve a lot of problems for China's leaders - in some places officials look the other way as churches open orphanages, elder-care homes and other badly needed services. But even if Beijing doesn't allow religious freedom, Chinese Christians will continue to spread the word, at home and abroad." |

| April 9-18 | Brother Yun visits
Tahiti In cooperation with AVC, Brother Yun and his interpreter visited Tahiti in the beginning of April this year. There has been a great revival in Tahiti and many people within the government have become Christians. Although churches are not as big as in many other countries, the Holy Spirit is as powerful and many people were touched by the BTJ vision. A group of Christians decided to go to the furthest island in Tahiti, according to local sources, a location as far away as ever possible from Jerusalem. They wanted to start their participation in the BTJ vision from there, bringing the Gospel to all villages in Tahiti. |

BTJ Conference in Milan During three days in Milan, Italy, approx. five hundred Chinese Christians from all over Europe were gathered to worship the Lord and spend time in fellowship across denominational and nation borders. Main speakers were Brother Yun and Rachel & Gordon Hickson from the UK, both well-known speakers and founders of the M25 prayer network of London and also travelling the globe with their own ministry, Heartcry, www.heartcry.co.uk. Gordon is also the BTJ coordinator for the UK and will be travelling with Brother Yun in the UK, see Dates. This conference followed the two earlier European conferences, both held in Paris (see News 2003 for more information), where the Chinese Church in Europe gather around the Back To Jerusalem vision and the longing of reaching out to both the Chinese community in Europe as well as the citizens in their new home countries. The three days were filled with worship and time before the throne of God, led by a team of worshippers from Paris. Organising an event like this demands a lot of planning and hard work and the team in charge of this conference managed to keep everything together, both people and the program, even though it is not easy to get a bunch of enthusiastic Chinese in time for every session. Feeding five hundred is a challenge wherever the location, but the practical details worked out in a very good way. Between sessions, there was plenty of time to meet new and old friends from various European countries.
Throughout the day,
there were teaching sessions with the main speakers, challenging the
delegates to surrender their lives 100% to the Lord and to take up the cross
and get going on the road Back To Jerusalem, no matter what direction we
come from. The presence of the Spirit and response in the meeting were even
stronger (if that's possible) than the previous conferences, making us even
more firm in our belief that God certainly has a strong calling for the
Chinese Christian community in Europe to be part of fulfilling the Great
Commission.
but make sure that you
join next time it is time for a BTJ Chinese conference in Europe. |
| November 2003 | The Heavenly Man in
Norwegian Brother Yun visited the Faroe Islands and Norway together with Peter Xu and Eivind Froen during ten hectic days in November 2003, everything arranged by Asialink, BTJ partners in Norway. His biography, The Heavenly Man, was released the same week and the books arrived from the printing company just a few days before the tour started. During the first week, the book sold an impressive 3,000 copies and a second print is already on its way. Churches were full almost everywhere and the interest for China and the BTJ vision is very high in Norway as Asialink has been an active organisation for supporting the work in China for many years. If you want to know more about Asialink, or maybe buy The heavenly Man in Norwegian, please visit their website at www.asialink.no |
